Sometimes the forecasted storms uneventfully pass by, in which case you're left with a little extra food on hand, some jugs of water for the next storm, and some cozy blankets to snuggle up in.

Thomas Traynor@molly0xfff I also have a small solar panel that I use to charge batteries along with all of the supplies that you mention. Generator is dual fuel so I keep two tanks for that, and one for the BBQ for coffee and hot food.
