No one should feel obligated to spend time this holiday season with people who voted for them to lose their rights, health, marriage, or life. Those aren't "political differences."

Celebrate the holidays with people who celebrate your existence. Give thanks with people grateful for who you are.

No one should feel compelled to spend a minute of precious holiday time with someone who makes them feel unworthy of equal rights, happiness or existence.

@augieray If you're stuck either sharing housing with such people or becoming homeless, though...
@augieray I have siblings I haven't spoken to since 2016, when I learned that they planned to vote for Il Douche. I'm just glad my father passed away in 2011 so I was spared from seeing him join the cult.
American politics viewed from the outside.

Not a pretty picture.

@augieray it’s heartbreaking that it has come to this though 😢.
@annecavicchi It surely is. And some may choose to continue to engage with those family members. That's entirely up to them, but I don't think people need to make themselves unhappy or feel threatened by being around people who wish them misery.

@augieray I assiduously avoid fascists.
@augieray
That's why the Original People of North America don't typically celebrate this colonial holiday.
@augieray I intend to do just that.
