Just walked out of a church service because the pastor decided to celebrate Trump’s win by starting a statement about the “woke agenda.” When someone uses that term, they have absolutely nothing worthwhile to say, and they certainly aren’t preaching the words of Christ.

In the history of the world, no one has a more woke agenda than Jesus Christ

@solownh @adhdeanasl I cannot remember where I read it, but somewhere in the Bible it says that the Gospel is preached, even to the dead, but perhaps I imagined it?

Also, ministers all over are getting complaints from parishioners who don't like the Beatitudes. They think it sounds "weak." They reject hearing straight from the Bible they purport to believe in. They are completely disingenuous about their own faith. They want to be on the winning side of a divide devised in their own minds. They want Rambo Jesus, a god made of their own desires, in their own image. That is the very definition of idolatry and they cannot be made to see it.

@solownh @adhdeanasl He's basically stating Jewish law in succinct summary. He gets a lot of direct credit for things that he's actually paraphrasing from Leviticus and so forth.

This is probably what fascinated so many Pharisees, that a yokel from Galilee knew all this stuff so well and perhaps even that he could apply it better than they could.

FYI. I 100% believe Jesus would not be a Republican or a Democrat. Jesus turned the world upside down and made such an impact he changed BC to AD.

@solownh odd. I don’t see it that way. You have Harris who clearly doesn’t follow the teachings of Jesus and shows no real signs of being saved and you have Trump who also has not lived a Christ like life but is either making legitimate attempts to lead to Christ (especially since he was shot) and might have actually repented, although we may never really know until the day we are called home by God.
