If you're worrying about the security of your adult hosting in an increasingly porn-hostile world (#USPol) may I recommend Mojohost?

I have been #hosting with #Mojohost since 2004, precisely BECAUSE they are committed to serving and supporting their #adult and #porn industry customers no matter what happens. Yes, that's twenty years now!

Mojohost's owner Brad Mitchell just released "Statement on Project 2025 and the Future of Adult Entertainment". See my next posts.

@ErosBlog You know, I've actually considered leaning into this, setting up a website just to post smutty writing and queer stuff specifically as an act of visibility and rebellion. I was wondering about hosting, and this seems so solid. Thank you for the tip  ✨

@LaurenLeFey Lauren you're welcome! I don't think Mojohost is cheap (though it's been a long time since I had reason to look at competitors' pricing) but I literally get an anxiety reaction in the pit of my stomach any time I consider using a less-trusted host.

PS I think having your own website for this is a superbly good idea. It enables the POSSE publishing mode, the one Corey Doctorow at @pluralistic uses: https://indieweb.org/POSSE

And of course, there's my 1st rule:

POSSE

POSSE is an abbreviation for Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere, the practice of posting content on your own site first, then publishing copies or sharing links to third parties (like social media silos) with original post links to provide viewers a path to directly interacting with your content.

IndieWeb

@ErosBlog I was just looking at that! It is a bit steep for a website that will realistically draw basically no traffic, but I respect the philosophical stance so much and that has real value for exactly what I'd want to do, especially since so many other providers *already* don't want that kind of content.

(Also, that's actually a fantastic and detailed explanation of what I was thinking I'd do! I have stuff to think about  )
