Every day, there is ONE event that then becomes covered by the MSN and dozens of podcast commenters (who replay the same clip) and all the evening comedy personalities.
My solution is to move on as soon as I get the gist, then return to a movie.
It's the repetition of reactions that numbs the mind with horror.
Also, physical activity is a good antidote for the feeling of maddening powerlessness . . .
