I have a request. If you're interested in The Book of Ratings reprint, please take a look at the PDF linked below. My question is this: Do the annotations enhance the old Ratings, or would you personally prefer if they were just reprinted as they were?

@loresjoberg these annotations are SO GOOD. You’re not removing anything, and you’re adding a whole new layer of funny
@loresjoberg Speaking as a big Adams and Pratchett fan, I have missed this kind of cut-in joke for far too long.
@loresjoberg The annotations are not only great, but they add an additional dimension to the Ratings, by showing how much the world has changed since they were first written. If there ends up being a lot of text overall, you could put them in an appendix.
@loresjoberg There's a lot of value added here. I have the old Book of Ratings; I'd prefer the annotations.
@loresjoberg I like the annotations. Nobody has to read footnotes if they don't want to. Or italics.

@loresjoberg Another vote for the annotations. They’re great.

The second go-round of Basic Instructions has annotations and they added so much.

Also, “justas” needs a space in Walking on Water, and “obvs” should be capitalized in the Vampires footnote.

@loresjoberg i like the annotations. They add more humor. It also will help with the younger readers who don’t know what some of the references are
@loresjoberg do you need any more votes? Probably not, but here's another pro-annotations one.
@loresjoberg I still own the old book, so the annotations would justify me getting a reprint. I vote enhance.
@loresjoberg I'm not sure the footnote medium works for this. I bet you could do a banger Appendix of Outmoded Alllusions tho

@loresjoberg Only looks though a few pages but I like them.

Berkeley Breathed did an annotated collection of his *Bloom County* cartoon and the biggest drawback was how sparse the annotations were because honestly he was annotating 1980s strips in the 2010s. You seem to have enough to be fun without being overwhelming.

@loresjoberg My honest impression: annotations are great, they're bonus comedy . . . but you might want slightly fewer. Slightly! I just felt like the dinosaur entry was getting a little overwhelmed.
@loresjoberg I am 1000% in favor of annotations
@loresjoberg I like them. I think they're a fun addition!
@loresjoberg footnotes always makes things funnier. I'm hoping in 20 years you will add footnotes to the footnotes
@loresjoberg Definitely improvement! Keep them! More annotations good!
