Context: A number is *happy* if, when you repeatedly sum the squares of its digits, you end at 1. For instance, 7 is happy because 7 → 7² = 49 → 4²+9² = 97 → 130 → 10 → 1.
What can happen to unhappy numbers? They all end in the same 8-cycle: 4 → 16 → 37 → 58 → 89 → 145 → 42 → 20 → 4.
Hence, the sentence.
