I'm gonna need a bigger boat.
To be fair this is on a poky little Wyse 5070 box. I should really move it to fatter server.
This is the first time the passive CPU cooler on the Wyse 5070 has become too hot to touch. 😅
(It's sitting open-cased because I've got a SATA card jammed into the M.2 slot so I can have ZFS and other cool acronyms).
When I find time I'll stick this in a 1U case so that it's not server body horror.
Thank you to @roomaroo for the suggestion to put the ML CPU-chewing part on a beefier server. Now it's chugging a long nicely.
Remote Machine Learning | Immich
To alleviate performance issues on low-memory systems like the Raspberry Pi, you may also host Immich's machine learning container on a more powerful system, such as your laptop or desktop computer. The server container will send requests containing the image preview to the remote machine learning container for processing. The machine learning container does not persist this data or associate it with a particular user.
