Hi #geneadons ,

Today seems to be #AncestryDNAupdate day. Ancestry has rolled out their latest iteration of their "Regional Ancestry (aka Ethnicity Estimates).

For people w. British heritage the new results are coming across as slightly odd. Gone are some of the Scandinavian ancestry, but some new "odd" sub-regions e.g. "Italian Switzerland" and "Chanel Islands".

Anyway, here's my new results.

As ever, it's worth using the SideView tools to dive into the results and see the details.

If you are interested in a more deep dive into these results the the DNAPainter tool is a great way to match regions to Ancestors. Here's a blog post from Jonny Perl on how to do this.

Am I actually a Dutchman? | DNA Painter Blog

AncestryDNA have just launched their latest ancestral populations update. One of the changes I can see is that I'm now considered to be 7% Dutch. I could just smile about this and ponder whether it influenced me moving to Amsterdam as young man. But since AncestryDNA have also updated their Chromosome Painter, I can also analyze it in a bit more detail.
