On vacation with lots of time but only a mobile phone to practice #morsecode #cw Can't use LCWO - forget to pack Bluetooth keyboard and onscreen keyboard needs long press for some characters (can't write - long story).
I'm using a Morse Magic app with its own onscreen keys. OK up to lesson 25, now going backwards.
Bah!
#LearningMorseCode
@G8GDS Listen to these: http://jouni.kapsi.fi/cw/stories/ - find the spacing you need.
Index of /cw/stories

@OH3CUF thanks, I'll give them a try
@G8GDS I would say that listening those will not go to waste at all. Annoying, difficult but very good to increase skills. And you only need your ears.
@OH3CUF That is a good approach to #LearningMorseCode . I do have to keep rewinding 10s or so to replay but I think I am learning.
Thanks again

@G8GDS So nice to hear! I've been trying to figure out what it is about to learn morse code and I personally also believe that's it. It is just about listening and listening more and more. Eventually brain will get hold of it and rest is history. There is no shortcut I think.

The best part is of course when you realize your progress. You will soon notice that the spacing is too slow and you start listening with shorter spacing.

And most important tip: practice each and every day!

@OH3CUF working slowly through audio Morse files from your link - a good learning tool. Puzzled by ...-.- though . Maybe it was that extra Campari soda at lunchtime (we are on vacation ...)

@G8GDS So nice! ...-.- is prosign for SK. I used that instead of "." (.-.-.-) since "." is not really used in CW. I also wanted to introduce one prosign there :)

Now thinking, maybe I should have used = as "." and then SK for between the stories.

@OH3CUF Understood. Unexpected is good - jolts a person out of complacency. Just when I took a breath after 'transceiver' I got surprised by SK.
@G8GDS Also "performance" or "communications". I usually miss the operat* words as I start guessing, is it -ing or -ions or -ed -> "wait what was it" :D
