So apparently this Canadian cartoon that I assume Canadians love has been remastered in 4K. Considering it was produce in 1980 that's going to be very interesting.

It's called The Raccoons and it's available on YouTube. I think I vaguely remember watching this and technically we did get Canadian programming in the US rarely.

@wolfkin Nice! I remember that cartoon.

@wolfkin

Oh yes. Childhood classic, the Raccoons. Its right up there with the Friendly Giant, Mr. Dressup, Today's Special and The Polka Dot Door.

@tezoatlipoca FG sounds familiar but I can't picture it and I've come to learn about Mr. Dressup a few years ago. I definitely don't know TPDD but it looks kinda dope

@wolfkin the hosts of Polka Dot Door would have conversations with their dolls/animals just like kids would which made it super relatable. "Whats that Marigold? You'd like some more tea? Here you go." <silence> "Why thank you Marigold, I made these biscuits myself."

Then one of the hosts would dissappear to get into the Polkaroo suit (sorry 80s kids: spoiler alert) and the other hosts would be "Hey Its the Polkaroo!" and hijinks ensue. Then "Aw, Fred, you just missed the Polkaroo" "Again!?"

@tezoatlipoca oh man there's nothing that would make me feel smarter as a kid than knowing it's the missing adult in the costume.

@wolfkin

Are those Snorks?

@rk that is ironically what I said to my sister. I happen to remember that one creature and I was trying to remember if it was from snorks but it couldn't have been because I remember it being on land.
@rk The Sneers (Cyril and Cedric) were aardvarks. Took me ages to find that out (thanks to Wikipedia).
