Over the years, I have scoured the internet for various versions of the Mac HIG PDFs. Here is my collection so far.

Some neat ones include HIGs for Mac OS 8 & a preliminary Mac OS X version from the Public Beta.

These HIGs contain general desktop guidelines that still apply today & that you can't find in the modern HIG.

Please retoot! Everyone should read these.

@marioguzman Nice one! I'm sure that you already know but worth mentioning that Tog on Interface is a nice companion to the early guides https://archive.org/details/togoninterface0000togn/page/n7/mode/2up
@glotcha @marioguzman @aardvark I wish I could find the VHS tape of Bruce Tognazzini’s macaroni and cheese talk. He opened the top of the box and then looked for the directions. They were on the box bottom so he dumped the contents on the floor to read them.

@jimluther @glotcha @marioguzman @aardvark There was a German Mac magazine called MacUp that described that talk. I probably still have it in a box in storage.

If you're curious I can scan it next time I take something out of storage.
