It's interesting. The quote included "easy to understand," though some folks have a hard time with it. I'm neurodivergent so I understand.
Anyway, our brains can factor in variables that amplify emotions. The first frame is solid columns of steps and tiny holes. The risk seems low. The second frame offers the exact same path, but with a sea of emptiness below it. That can make it seem scarier, even though it's the same.
