WebKit Features in Safari 18.0

Safari 18.0 is here.

WebKit
@jensimmons Distraction Control sounds cool... but it's 3 clicks minimum. Don't most cookie banners/popups/etc have a one click dismissal? Or is this more for items you _cant_ click to dismiss?

@jensimmons
Hello! Half of Salesforce doesn't work in Safari 18. They use a lot of third-party cookies and iframes.

* Checked “Disable cross-origin restrictions”
* Unchecked "Prevent cross-site tracking”

And even unchecked a few things in the Feature Flags. None of it works.

Behavior is the same as in Chrome if you “block third-party cookies”.

Where's the best place to report this? Especially given Salesforce isn't exactly available for all to test with?

@devtrope Thanks. And check your DMs.
@jensimmons
Working on it now! ;) Let me see if I can get some console output to match up with what's going on.
@jensimmons typo? “Fixed sampleRate and numberOfChanges to be required and non-zero in a valid AudioEncoderConfig.” Should maybe be numberOfChannels?
@jensimmons I tested out debugging with iPhone mirroring at work today, and oh my goodness - being able to see both the desktop and mobile view side-by-side is already a game changer for my productivity!! ❤️
@BensCarBlog @jensimmons i would love to test this, but hey, apple decided to go to war with the eu so no new features for me.
@BensCarBlog @jensimmons Looking forward to trying this out!

@jensimmons Kudos to whomever wrote, ”If you switch tabs, close the window, or occlude the web page with another window, the video enters picture-in-picture.”

I literally said aloud ”oooh good use of occlude” when I got to that sentence. It tickled me.

@jensimmons
Distraction Control and Viewer are great (apart from the excessively rounded video).
But, is it now an annual tradition to break iCloud tab sync functionality with every major release?
Also, is there any chance the long-standing apple-touch-icon and favicon issues will ever be fixed?
