Today’s lunch: Saltibarsciai, a Lithuanian cold soup made with beets, cucumber, onion and kefir. Served with boiled potatoes on the side.
A very refreshing and summer-ly meal.
It’s also easy to make, perfect for the hot days ! 🤩

@cayalo By being ethically Belarusian I’m engaged in this kind of question, but I think this is the best cold soup ever.
As part of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth we also have this soup in our national cuisine, called as Chaladnik, as well as Poles, who call it Chołodnik Łitewski.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
@ALoiteringFlaneur hey! For me this was a brand new thing as it is completely different from Colombian cuisine, and I really enjoyed it!
@cayalo What dishes from Colombian cuisine you could suggest? It is Tierra Incógnita for me
@ALoiteringFlaneur something maybe a bit similar to ceburekai I would say empanadas, it’s also a meat stuffed pastry but the dough is made of cornflour, or “papa rellena” which is a meat stuffed potato. These are popular street foods :)
