Utilising knowledge of the components of seawater and the interaction of thermal vents, a caster can extract raw salt from the water and heat it to make it adhesive before launching it outwards. Those affected will find their muscles seizing up, causing them to slow down. The salt also weakens armour, though isn’t a permanent effect unless it’s metal.

By calling forth a Maddening Whisper, users can push the Voices into the minds of their targets, dealing psychic pain. But if the target is mentally prepared or otherwise strong enough to resist, the spell backfires, and the Voices revel in a new mind to explore. The user takes damage and also is overwhelmed for a time.

Of course, no one had ever heard of him, even in the Authenticator’s Guild, and those he claimed as family. Despite his lack of identity, he exhibited skill in the arcane arts, demonstrating a spell he called the Mage Collar. A spectral collar would appear on a mage, with a matching ring in his hand, and would cause pain whenever they would use any magic.

One clever soul, using the hand of a clock and a page of a calendar, wove a spell that, when cast, would allow a person to become intangible to the world while in motion, but solid while at rest. Unfortunately, it was deemed unfit for purpose, as it counted ANY motion, such as attempting to take unowned items from their rightful place.

One such technique is called the Hook Shot. The user focuses on a small mirrored surface and pushes their will towards it.
