@ripppleapp just got the latest app update and it seems something broke in the app badge. it’s supposed to say 64 but for some reason it’s stuck at 103. i’ve tried even changing “to watch” to be all watched and then go back to my “only collected” setting, but the only thing that changed is a TON of shows were added to completed. no idea where the extra 39 is coming from…

@manolo I'll have a check, thanks for your feedback! I think I forgot to update the code that sets the badge count 🤦‍♂️ This means the badge count is probably not taking the Completed and Dropped shows into account.

@ripppleapp hi again! i noticed the badge on my phone and my iPad don’t match and while investigating i noticed that there’s a whole lot more that doesn’t actually match! any ideas? the list of things to watch seems identical even the the count is off between them. and the number of completed etc is way off.

unrelated…what’s up with “at least one behind”? it’s a bit confusing since it’s inconsistent when it shows. sometimes it means 1 sometimes more. why not just show the actual number?

@manolo hey, long story short: this is due to caching.

What happens is either my cache (based on Trakt server response — I try to be a good citizen) or Trakt server’s cache is giving you a different response on different devices.

@manolo You can either wait and it will solve itself at some time. Or you can try to scroll-to-refresh the To Watch in Rippple. Note that if it’s a server cache issue, this may have no effect. If nothing changes and you want to force a server cache refresh, you need to mark something watched (then remove it from your history) or checkin and cancel.

@manolo for the “at least one behind” it’s a similar issue. It happens when Trakt tells me there is an episode to watch but it also says there’s zero I watched episodes. I know there is at least one but I’m not sure of the count (I could make more API calls to find out or be more agressive and bypass the cached information but I don’t) that’s why it says there’s is something but unsure how much.

@manolo for that last issue, it also fixes itself with time but if you are in a hurry, a scroll-to-refresh may help. Otherwise, mark something as watched and remove will fix it.

@ripppleapp i’ll see if i can get it to sync up by forcing a refresh by marking stuff as watched and undoing it, especially the total number of shows being way off is odd…
for the number of episodes left, it’s a bit confusing but not a huge deal. thanks for the explanation!
