After the interview I did with @JMSeaborn, someone mentioned that it was refreshing to hear a conversation between a man and a woman where *he* laughs at *her* jokes, not just the other way round.

I found this delightful (my m8s are gr8) and ofc depressing. Why is this so rare? Still?

While we were chatting about it I realised I'd written something touching on this topic yonks ago on the blog: https://www.girlonthenet.com/blog/a-guy-with-no-sense-of-humour-walks-into-a-bar/ (forgive clumsiness, it was 2015)

A guy with no sense of humour walks into a bar...

...the bartender says 'hey is that a copy of a bullshit Metro article about how women shouldn't have a sense of humour if they want to get laid?'

Girl on the Net

This has depressed me at various points when I've been dating - men who expect me to laugh at their jokes but don't laugh at mine, or even often recognise them as jokes in the first place.

I think @robyneatseverything discussed this a while back re: being a sexy person making hot content. When you do that, straight men with dicks in hand reply to even your funniest jokes with some reference to your tits/their boner rather than acknowledging your wit.

@girlonthenet That must get exhausting pretty quickly 😬.
