I regret choosing https://ourinternet.in as the domain for my #workshop

Shortlist for the new, final domain decision. Can you help me?

(Consider that the same domain will be used also for other languages, so it should be somewhat understandable and easy to spell for non-English-speaking people)

🪡 Knitting Our Internet 🧶

An interactive workshop travelling through the history of the Internet, and proposing a collective re-imagining of participatory, decentralised alternatives. This workshop aims at questioning the very essence of today’s social networks, exposing the critical limits given by centralization, monopoly, and surveillance capitalism.

@tommi

knittingourinternet.org, of course 🙂

@mikael Mmmh I think it really makes sense and it’s simple, but it’s a bit too long and not very original…

@tommi

simple > original

Also, .org is one of the better TLD custodians. The corporately owned gTLDs can change their pricing at a whim, for whatever reason.

@mikael you have a point… I went with ournet.rocks, but I will definitely keep these considerations in mind
@tommi this is a very partial view of the #internet and #openweb here is a step to a wider view https://hamishcampbell.com/?s=openweb+history the is a lot of information around on this grassroots side of the #4opens native path :)

@witchescauldron Definitely, there is a loooot to work on, I will try to learn more and add knowledge as much as possible, one step at a time.

Thanks for sharing this very insightful resource! ❤️
