Printed and framed one of my recent photos. I honestly miscalculated the size of the passepartout a bit, it would probably look better without the inner margin. I’m still just kind of trying it on. Wish this was a darkroom print, but it’s not. Don’t have access to one at the moment.
@Gargron It doesn't hurt even with the inner margin, I like it, it gives vividness to the photo
@Gargron that is captivating. I love B & W
@Gargron Don't worry - looks great! Great capture too.
@Gargron Great shot!
BW photos look the best with big margins and without a passepartout IMO
@Gargron I prefer w/ the innner margin. It adds some IRL interplay of light, dark and shadows at the margins of a picture playing w/ light, dark and shadows.
@Gargron If you're ever in Pennsylvania you can stop by and use mine. :) Also, if you ever need a print, you can send me a negative!
@Gargron As my eyes move to look at the picture, the framing makes me feel like I am entering in to a room. I really like this.
@dadakopf @Gargron nice observation. Makes me think of how the double matting is evocative of the window frame and mullions and panes.
