Half of the expanded universe: Here's the great Sith Lord Darth Powerfantasy who could blow up planets with his gigantic ****. Lame ass Jedi never stood a chance. Certainly never produced anyone close to as powerful.

I earnestly think that the greatest actual representation of the dark side being more convenient but not more powerful comes from the #FantasyFlight Star wars #ttrpg - on the Force Die, more of the sides had Dark Side pips, but most of the Light Side pips had doubles.

@SilverGM The biggest Star Wars question to me is why the Jedi in the prequels don't match what Obi-Wan and Yoda taught Luke?

"A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never to attack."

Did George Lucas get caught up by the power hype train?

Had the Jedi gotten proud and complacent and got annihilated because of it, and Obi-Wan and Yoda remembered the true teaching after that?

Or did Obi-Wan and Yoda teach Luke a new vision for a Jedi that they came up with after the old way failed?
