My mom just tested positive for covid, and she feels mostly fine, but I was over there visiting them on Sunday, and I woke up this morning with a very sore throat.

I'm going to be very annoyed if I have covid again. It would be almost exactly a year after the last time I had it.

Covid test is negative. It might just be a cold. My sister and nephew have a cold right now, and I also saw them on Sunday

It turns out my mom did not test positive for covid. She just didn't know how to read a covid test. She thought a line next to C meant Covid. I told her she has to have two lines for the test to be positive. She had only one line.

They should really redesign those tests to be more intuitive

@MLE_online this implies that there's another disease out there, TOVID-19 🤔
@bhtooefr Toeronavirus only infects your toenails
@MLE_online control and sample is kinda standard... For not normal ass people that this shit matters to... So like ye, 110% agree, should be p and n at least for positive negative.
@Pibble Yes! Regular people don't know what C and T mean. I didn't actually know what they stood for until I looked it up after explaining to my mom she needs two lines on the test, and I have a science background!
@Pibble @MLE_online This has me picturing a lowercase 'n' shaped control reaction area with the test area being shaped such that it creates the descender and closes the bottom of the 'n' to make the letter 'p'. It itches my brain that they could make it like that...
@MLE_online symptoms are showing up a couple days before positive tests. So it might be worth testing again in two days.
@Apiary She started feeling bad on Sunday, and she still tested negative today, and she says her symptoms are mostly gone now, so fingers crossed
@MLE_online I’ve done this myself. C for Covid, T for Test. It’s easily confused especially when you’re not feeling well to begin with.
@MLE_online seemingly everyone is sick with something right now.
hope you feel better quick
