I am rethinking my use of #dmr. If it worked like a trunking system where I can roam, that would be useful. But static talkgroups and limits on what I can dynamically use make it rather clumsy.

I will say, the audio quality on #dstar and #ysf is waaaaay better.

@kn8cr I’ve heard fusion is much better than D-Star for audio quality. I’m a dstar user 🙂

@kn8cr Dstar uses an older version of the codec, so should sound a tiny bit worse. YSF uses exactly the same codec and bit rate in DN mode so should sound exactly the same. The differences you are hearing may come from one radio having a slightly better loudspeaker, that sort of thing.
