Holy CRAP, Mastodon, do I have a #Caturday update on our #CatDrama in this apartment complex.

7 of us just assembled like the freaking Avengers and GOT MY NEIGHBOR'S CAT OUT OF THE STORM DRAIN!!! One of the men used a lever to lift the manhole cover and lowered a step ladder down. I was the smallest adult, so I went down the into the storm drain with a flashlight. I had to kind of bear crawl through part of it, but down one small side tunnel I saw TWO REFLECTIVE EYES blinking irregularly!

Fantastic! You'll never forget this adventure!

@MaryAustinBooks Wow! In 1961, our cat Philip disappeared. We heard meows from across the street. My mom went across to the bushes along the house there, and the meows came from behind her.

Similar story, cat in storm drain, crowd gathered round, various stereotypes reinforced.

Ladder from a neighbor, manhole cover lifted, but no guy went down. So my mom did. Philip safely recovered.

30 years later people still recognized her from the event.

Thanks for triggering good memories, and bravo on the #CatRescue
