It was extremely foggy, which added a nice "edge of the world" atmosphere...
In the 50s, there were plans of building a freshwater dam here.
They wanted to simulate the effects it would have, but couldn't do it in software yet.
So... they just built a hydraulic model of the entire Bay Area, in a scale of 1:1000!!! You can visit, it's huge!!
