We live, literally, on the Euro Velo 1 international cycling route. We see cyclists passing by daily.
According to Apple Maps app, there are no cycling routes anywhere near us!
Basically all of the EV1 follows the main roads, same as 📷 1 & 3 below, yet…
You’d think a bike route would be ‘easy enough’ to include, especially when it follows the car / walking routes & has it’s own way markers.
But no.
Apple’s Maps app has long been flawed. But offering nothing where something exists is quite an achievement.
This 200 meter stretch of cycling infrastructure doesn’t even feature on Apple Maps.
Both directions, the entirety of our cycle lane infrastructure in one photo.
That’s it for at least 100 km & this bit isn’t even on the EV1, that diverts around ‘back lanes’. 🤣
