Hovav Shacham@design_law A.I. Bezzerides' screenplay for Kiss Me Deadly (1955) was vastly better than the Mickey Spillane book (1952). And everything else about the movie was perfect, too.

The TV show trimmed things that leaded the book, making more fun.
The worst change was the wife of the meth: in the TV show, the actress was around 40; in the book, she had the body of a 17 years old girl, which made things much, much more creepy, reinforcing the idea that the meth were terrible people.
