@me interesting! not an apple stuff user, but do you have any demonstrations of it working with voiceover? also, do you know if it can log in to gotosocial, since it somewhat uses the mastodon api?
@me Is there anyway SoraSNS can change the display to show line breaks‽ (which would basically allow paragraphs to be shown within the app).

For example, on a post, this is how SoraSNS appears verses how it is displayed on the web.

Also for Misskey (& various forks based on Misskey), would you mind including Markdown buttons to make it easier to add links, italicize, bold & strike through words‽

Thanks again for making this app! It makes Misskey fun again!

@me Hi, I’m currently testing the Sora SNS Mac App for Bluesky. What irritates me a bit is that it seems that my account seems to be routed through some other server (“porcini.(…).bsky.network”). What does this mean? I would like to avoid other servers having my credentials.

Also I am trying to log out from the app, but I can’t find any setting or function to log me out an remove my account from the app (not deleting my account completely). Could you please help? Thanks!

@dans_root

Hi! Thank you for your message!

That is an official Bluesky server called a Personal Data Server PDS, and belongs to Bluesky. Basically Bluesky.social is just an entry point, and Bluesky has a ton of servers to host users data (selected at random when you sign up). With the domain of bsky.network So there’s no worry for data security.

Different for most of the apps SoraSNS connects directly to your data server instead of the general bsky.social so that it speeds up things.

You can read this for more information

https://docs.bsky.app/docs/advanced-guides/entryway#:~:text=Bluesky%20runs%20many%20PDSs.,is%20handled%20by%20the%20Entryway.

Per official documentation:
“””
Bluesky runs many PDSs. Each PDS runs as a completely separate service in the network with its own identity. They federate with the rest of the network in the exact same manner that a non-Bluesky PDS would. These PDSs have hostnames such as morel.us-east.host.bsky.network.

If you want to delete a credential, go to account switcher and long press on an account, then press delete.

Please know that SoraSNS and my other apps have the highest standards of security. Routing user data via another server is not only unnecessary but would cost me a ton, so that’s why I’ll always make sure users data communication is with the official servers only.

Best,
Dev of SoraSNS
