_As an Australian who's not following USA politics closely, what's all the blue stuff under the TV screen?
(I've looked at the Alt-Text for a few versions of this pic, and I just don't understand what the blue stuff is)

I found this pic, which shows that the blue is the stairs leading up to the stage.

@GottaLaff just being a #girldad over here. She just turned five, and really wanted to stay up to see Kamala because I’m constantly talking about the election with other adults and she’s often curious about what I’m doing. I let her but she conked out just after her bedtime anyway, also at 5 she doesn’t really have the attention span for an hour speech. I hope next year she gets to learn all about the first woman president, who just like her is of mixed heritage.
