"‘Homicide’ Is One of the Best TV Shows Ever. And It Is Finally Streaming"

Written by David Simon, who brought us The Wire, along with a host of other great stuff.

Streaming on Peacock. This is a big get for the service and a natural fit (an NBC show).

The article below is a gift article, should work, at least in the US.

‘Homicide’ Is One of the Best TV Shows Ever. And It Is Finally Streaming

For years, the foundational cop drama, based on the book by David Simon (“The Wire”), languished in DVD-only purgatory. No longer.

@davemark pale imitation of the real “Homicide” 😂

@bgrinter Fun to watch, though I have no idea what that was.

@davemark Homicide was an Australian TV crime show that ran from 1964 until 1977. It was the first major locally made drama and a lot of episodes were based on real cases.

Whilst ground breaking at the time, in that episode the car being chased changed to a different model during the chase!

@davemark the production company did a huge number of shows for all the networks, Homicide, Division 4, Matlock Police were all made around the same time for each of the 3 local networks.
@bgrinter Fascinating. I'm a big time Australian show fan. Favorites include Rake, Mr. Inbetween, Fisk, and Troppo. Any others you'd strongly recommend?
@davemark what types of shows are you in to?
@bgrinter Pretty wide range. Mysteries, police procedurals, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, romcoms, all sorts of stuff.

@davemark

Lots of good crime shows, this gives you a few to start with along with trailers

Mystery Road, Rake and Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries are all good

Blue Heelers was hugely popular but 12 years of episodes is a bit of a commitment
