The reports I've found that don't just credulously repeat the claim make it seem questionable if they are actually buying/selling these things or if they actually have any intention in holding them or whether they were prompted to. Only thing I've been able to find is that the photos do seem to be real and not AI or modified...maybe not so much the account that originally posted them though.
