#convenienceZombies. That’s what ppl are. Almost every single fucking one of them. Farmed at #Facebook, #Tiktok, #LemmyWorld, #SnapChat, #LinkedIn. #Cloudflare-blind.

Conditioned to be a slave to the #smartphone.

As one of few outsiders it’s shocking how many #threadiverse ppl use phone clients. Cognitive dissonence hits me on this- how can it be convenient to fat-finger a tiny keyboard & look at a small screen? I know folks are not using speech-to-text for that as there would be more typos.

It’s not just techilliterates.. it’s car drivers. A car driver is a #convenienceZombie. So are consumers to don’t boycott. Every single buying decision should be a vote.. but that’s too much effort for the convenience zombies.

It’s also the #teleworking people.. who separately heat and cool their house because they’re too lazy to go to a shared building where the heating and cooling can be efficiently centralized. They are convenience zombies too.

@hyakinthos are you seriously asking how using a phone client can be convenient? im sure you know already.

@necrophcodr no, I most certainly do not know. I am typing this msg on a full size keyboard.

I occasionally need to fat-finger an on-screen phone keyboard & it’s quite far from convenient. I only use it away from home.

I’ve never used speech to text but I’ve seen ppl do it. They speak slow, clear, with unusual pitch range to cater for it & still get bizarre results they have to go back and correct.

So I am really missing something here. My phone is old & degoogled; not state of the art.

@hyakinthos maybe your phone being hold has something to do with it, i wouldn't really know, but it is convenient to be able to engage with the communities on here and in other places without having to be in one place for that to happen.
You can post from your phone while youre almost anywhere. You can't well do that with a desktop computer. I'm not going to be arbitrarily limiting myself either. We live in an age of information, and so to not use that appropriately seems like a mistake to me.
