I used the 5 1/4" floppies, when they were actually floppy, and then the 3 1/2" that were encased in hard plastic.
I remember reading an article by some early techbro about how the hard-sided 3 1/2" discs fit in a shirt pocket, glancing down at my chest (34B, the good old days), and thinking, "No, they don't."
