@PBruce I appreciate the historical context but would submit that the more immediate cause was Hamas murdering around 1000 innocent civilians and taking hundreds hostage.

No one has made that allegation or assumption and I note Ukraine is now defending itself by attacking within Russia , to the applause of America . The same law applies to all although Israel and America reject all legal judgements that do not favour them

@PBruce There are many significant differences to that one... Ukraine has not mass murdered civilians as far as I'm aware. Ukraine also became the subject to a massive invasion by Russia to begin with.

@PBruce you can't be seriously claiming something that happened 75 years ago is equal justification to something that started in 2022 (to a lesser extent in 2014) and is still very much ongoing with significant parts of Ukraine being actively fought over. In any case it does not justify the cowardly attack against civilians and taking them hostage in large numbers.

And no it has not been debunked, it really happened. It is also true that many innocent Palestinians are dying and there needs to be a ceasefire but Hamas in many ways bears part though not all of the responsibility for that too, one reason being them not agreeing to negotiate now.
