#WritersCoffeeClub Aug 13 - Would you ever serialize your work?

I had to, the story I wanted to tell was too long for one book. I'm not about to publish that one yet, I want to finish writing it (mostly because I hate when authors release a series and never finish it). If it reaches the shelves as a series of mine, it will be finished. There will be an end, a conclusion, a final book written and edited by yours truly.

@nemorosa You're my kind of people!

@anderlandbooks Good to know I'm not alone!

I am *still* waiting for Doors of Stone (Patrick Rothfuss)! I'm beginning to realise that he will never finish that series, no matter how brilliant the two first books were.

I do not want to end up in his chair.

@nemorosa by now, I refuse to start reading a series that isn't finished.

I'm making an exception for some, though, like @Firlefanz and @jograhamwrites as they don't end on cliffhangers (at least in all I've read of them so far, and plus, it was excellent).

@anderlandbooks I generally avoid unfinished series as well, not every author will have Brandon Sanderson finishing their epic work.

Thank you for adding to my To-Be-Read-List πŸ™‚ #bookstodon #reading

Oh wow! I didn't realize you'd read any of mine! Which ones did you read? *is chuffed*

@jograhamwrites

I read A Blackened Mirror and just started The Borgia Dove 😁

@anderlandbooks Oh awesome! I'm so glad you liked it. Who was your favorite character?
@jograhamwrites So far, it's still Giulia
@anderlandbooks I love Giulia. I'm glad you do too. And that one can see why Rodrigo is so smitten!

@jograhamwrites I think I'm gonna change my answer to Cesare. I always kinda liked Cesare Borgia and am angry with the della Rovere that their propaganda still works today.

But I've been angry with the della Rovere ever since I researched for #TheMasksOfFlorence πŸ˜…

@anderlandbooks *cheerful laugh* Cesare is always a favorite! I take it you've gotten to the sword fight at the house? He certainly got to show his stuff, and he has a real point in the argument with Rodrigo.
@jograhamwrites yes, I've changed opinion after the sword fight πŸ˜…
But the way Giulia deals with Clarice Orsini... That isn't the same Clarice who had married Lorenzo de Medici, though? I kept wondering.

@anderlandbooks Cesare is only 19 and not the legendary warrior he'll be, but he's damn good already! It was fun to let him show off a bit.

You're right, it's not the same Clarice Orsini. She's a cousin. They used the same names over and over. There's another Clarice Orsini a generation younger who's well known too. We'll meet Lorenzo and his wife Clarice's son in the next book, and also Lorenzo's nephew Giulio, who I admit I really, really like.

@jograhamwrites Oh!!! Looking forward to that! Giuliano Medici played a huge role in my book.
