I started the #CurrentlyAiring #kdrama #MySweetMobster which is fluffy and funny so far, yet has some depth, where the ML is a former mobster who starts a company that hires and reforms ex-convicts. Only on episode 3 and they've already addressed shame and pride and how people still very much have value even if they made mistakes in their lives. And apologizing when you were wrong.

Bonus that the ML speaks in a Godfather-esque soft hoarse voice! πŸ˜†

Talk about found family and MAKING a place to be found family for others... πŸ₯Ή
#kdrama #MySweetMobster

Omg, it has taken me until episode 6 to realize the mob leader who owns Club Cat is named Go Yang Hui κ³ μ–‘νœ˜ which sounds just like the Korean word for cat 고양이. πŸ˜†
#kdrama #MySweetMobster

I like that we get to hear the backstories for all these ex-cons and how their boss cares about them. πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯°

Now she gets to meet the women ex-cons he's saved...

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

This hyper sensitivity to men and women in the same room overnight or a man DARES to hold a woman's wrist in an obviously non-romantic way is πŸ™„ I put up with it, but ugh.

The ML is definitely swoon-worthy. 😍

FL's friend reminds me of Drew Barrymore.

Mistake maniac. Ha. Her dad's 180! πŸ˜†

This scene between Dong Hee and the prosecutor feels ship-worthy. Just me? I sense βš—οΈchemistryπŸ”₯. πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ I hope they aren't just brothers or something.

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

Whoa, there is some backstory reveal today. Wowza. What a terrible day to go to a hotel. He fought off a dozen guys with bats and even got stabbed, and SURVIVED?! And after all of that, the prosecutor thinks he was one of the assailants?!

People really can just assume the worst out of someone by only knowing one or two facts. πŸ’”

Oh, Il Yeong regretting a day of being normal because he let his hyungnim down. 😭

Holy shit, just got hit by a car! 😳

#kdrama #MySweetMobster
"By chance, are you the one who called in the tip this morning?" C'mon prosecutor! Keep figuring it out! Please please!

"It seems you have your own reasons for not telling her." 😩😒πŸ˜₯

Oh, fuckin' OUCH. Now he's going to lie to her to try to protect himself? Or protect her? Gah, he deserves to be loved and cherished. 😭

Omg, Bulldog in a Donald Duck outfit!

OK, I have a soft spot for the prosecutor now. 😒 But why did Eun Ha say, "Let's break up"?

Omg, we got a bunch of backstory and some exciting and frightening action, and some crying scenes (both me and the actors on screen). Episode 8 of the #kdrama #MySweetMobster is a doozy.

*bumps up MDL rating to 9.5*
*sees Viki has it rated at 9.7*
*nods*

#kdrama #MySweetMobster
(I like to re-watch the previous episode before starting the new one cuz lots goes on.)

Having seen #MissingCrownPrince, and knowing his eunuch stabbed him in a less lethal spot, I wonder if this scar face guy is similar. Stabbed our ML at the hotel because he could do it in a less lethal spot. And in this warehouse, took over beating up the ML cuz he could do it *less*.

#kdrama #MySweetMobster
I love how Eun Ha stood up for those guys against the snotty teens. Possibly the first time anyone did that.

Oh shit. Daddy's out of prison!

ZOMG is the fake blind date Lee Joon?!? I LOVED him in #Bulgasal 😍😍😍

"Except he's a loser in romance." πŸ˜†

Omg, he's been paying for her college? 😭

"The guy who calls it a mistake is a coward." Fuckin' OUCH, Miho. πŸ˜‚

The prosecutor is NOT a coward. Just a bit slow. But he knows what he wants.

#kdrama #MySweetMobster
"If the hanger is good, everything looks good on it."

"Does someone have COVID?" LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

Omg, is he realizing that he was her beloved oppa, and that HE was the one who inspired HER to be so caring towards children?! 😭😭😭 "gave me strength to live" is kinda a strong sentiment, and that's what he meant to her. 😭

And now he gives strength to live to all of these ex-cons... continuing that wonderful work. Omg, I'm gonna cry if I think about this too hard. 😭

And he says those memories helped him survive, too. 😭

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

Omg, "what else can you make with shadows?" 😈😈😈

"He malfunctions sometimes." πŸ˜‚

"Because you're such a shining star, our sausages were glowing!" πŸ˜³πŸ«£πŸ˜†

"I like him so much that I'm genuinely happy for him." Fuckin' OUCH. Eun-ha knows how to strike a blow.

"Why did you do that? You're already so successful." I love him. Cutting right to the chase. "Maybe don't shit all over my friend's new venture, jerk." "Why would I mock you? It's just facts."

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

GU MI HO as in the 9-tailed fox spirit? She even has red hair! With the owner of the Cat Club having a cat name, they definitely planned this...

"Stop it. You're too cute." πŸ˜‚πŸ₯°

Ope, the prosecutor let her know he knows Dong-Hee. 😬 Did he prosecute Dong-Hee in the past? Poor Dong-Hee. 😩

This meeting of the ex-cons and the prosecutor is so tense! Ack!

"Just making sure the door is locked." LMAO

Manho hoping for a family prosecutor. πŸ˜†

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

Big warm Seo Jihwan hugs sound really, really nice, actually. πŸ₯°

Those cat balloons look pretty fucking cool, actually. The black with shiny colorful details? 🀩

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

Seo Jihwan asking the prosecutor "You don't know what kind of person he is and you started an investigation on him?" Really underlines how well-connected and powerful his mob-boss dad is...

Ilyoung grew up in an orphanage? And he maybe thinks this pregnancy is his chance for a family? (He is SO TALL and has such long legs!) "Why do you keep showing up?" "You're not going to come to me." πŸ₯Ή

"That's basically an ocean." πŸ˜†

Seo Jihwan is SO GENTLE. 😍

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

DID THEY CONVERT THEIR HOME GYM INTO A HOME STUDIO FOR EUNHA?! 🫠

"You're part of our family, Eun-ha." D'awwww πŸ₯°

"The lobster we didn't have last night keeps singing 'Under the Sea'" LOL

"I wanted a place with ocean vibes. Not get buried in the ocean!" Ha, so many great lines.

These grown ass men mobsters dancing as animals! So silly! πŸ˜‚

This laundry scene at the orphanage is so darn wholesome. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

"The important thing is you owe me now." 😳😨

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

I love the incredibly mature and empathetic way Seo Jihwan deals with Dong-Hee's visitor. Not making excuses. Apologizes for being rough at first. Working to defuse the situation and bringing it up to a private room to stop the looky-loos. Kneeling, apologizing, recognizing how much that family was hurt and is still hurting. And still marking the boundary of keeping Dong-Hee employed there. He could have been defensive but wasn't. πŸ’–πŸ˜πŸ˜

#kdrama #MySweetMobster
Omg, this meet-the-parents is gonna make me cry. Seo Jihwan saying such nice things about Ilyeong. 😍πŸ₯°πŸ˜

"He did inherit something huge from his parents." 😳 "His face." πŸ˜†

Hee Hee Hee! Jihwan's drunk grins are so cute.

Him talking up his girlfriend and 10,000 subscribers to the jewelry lady. 😁

Ilyeong knowing how to woo Miho with bank balances. πŸ˜†

The difference between Jihwan and Go Yang-hui. 😬

Oh shit, that brick! Yikes!

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

The prosecutor got hit in the head with a brick and they are only hospitalizing him for a single day?! And he's just walking out of there?! AT LEAST DONT LET THE HEAD INJURY GUY DRIVE.

Jihwan and Jaesoo in the office talking about why Jaesoo calls him hyungnim when Jaesoo is the older one. 😭😭😭

This theme in the show of being vulnerable and strong and honest and caring for each other in their weakest moments? πŸ’–πŸ˜

#kdrama #MySweetMobster

"I thought a father would want his child to be happy." - Eun-ha, who always thinks of the deeper layer of who is hurt and what impact they have. She annoys me, but I love her.

Seo Jihwan giving Gang-Gil an offer he can't refuse. Or, he can refuse, and has refused. But might change his mind on.

Slipping that necklace around her neck like that was a total baller move. πŸ‘πŸ»

I expect her to have a Talk with his dad. Set him straight.

OK. I am sticking with my 9.5/10 rating for the #kdrama #MySweetMobster after finishing it.

It loses that half point because it can be awkwardly cheesy at times (for me, anyway).

But the themes of found family, being true to yourself and your values, being vulnerable and taking responsibility, and loving and accepting flawed humans just ticks all of my boxes.

Plus the playful mobster stuff and animal names!

I really enjoyed this series a lot.

@JillsJoy Likewise, I stopped at episode 9. The problem with me watching during airtime is that I seldom watch it till the end. The ML and FL scenes are awkward to watch. But individual scenes and the supporting actors are okay. I watched a lot of Han Sun Hwa's works where she plays a supporting role, and she can really deliver. I recommend Work Later, Drink Now 1. There are lots of funny scenes, especially with Lee Sun Bin.
@Alexee23 oh, thanks for the recommendation! πŸ˜ƒ
