Great post on "How I Computer in 2024" by @jnsgruk, VP Eng at Canonical. We especially loved this: Tailscale "has to be one of my favourite pieces of technology ever. It runs on all of my things - desktops, laptops, servers, phones, tablets, etc." ❤️ https://jnsgr.uk/2024/07/how-i-computer-in-2024/
How I Computer in 2024

An extended “uses” post that outlines the hardware I’m currently using, the software and tools that I use to get things done, and how I configure things.

If the way you computer in 2024 includes Tailscale, please do tag us! We love to hear about that.
@tailscale I use tailscale to access my homelab since you integrated with Mullvad
Its the only way to ssh into servers outside my local network, and I barely connect with local addresses since I prefer connecting with tailscale anyway.
Also access to my NYAS is handled with tailscale as well, so that full access to drive is only granted to my laptop via tailscale.
I'm huge fan and stan and fangirl and I thank you for your work
Oh also Mullvad integration is peak like I said

@tailscale I run a customized browser search engine backend off a small home server, and connect to it from all my devices (laptop, tablet, mobile) both at and away from home, via TS.

I also piggyback on your DNS settings to get all my clients using #NextDNS!

@tailscale
From day one setting up my home lab.

@tailscale Will do :-)

The only thing I haven't yet sorted is running it on my mail server. I did for a while, but using Cloudflare DNS got my.IP spam blocked.

I've moved to NextDNS so I might give it another go ...

@tailscale self-hosted gitlab access from anywhere.
@tailscale #Tailscale , #pfsense from @Netgate, #starlink, and my ISP make my access to home magical and simple.
@tailscale implemented at home... And at work as the sole remote access solution in our cloud envs
@tailscale unfortunately I can't make it work. Trying to set it up with my domain on a local registrar and DNS via Cloudflare on a TrueNAS Scale with Nginx Proxy Manager 😞 Filed a support ticket, so we'll see.. Hopefully I just missed some checkbox or something 😕
