For anyone who has done #3dprinting of rigged #blender sculpts. Did you use #retopology to improve the quality of the print?

I'm looking at printing a model and it has a few errors that could be fixed manually, but given I need to pose it for the print, I wonder if it's better to retopologize it first.

I've got a few retopo videos ready to go for when I have time at home, but I wanted to double check that I'm not diving into an unnecessary rabbit hole.

@lothaekor retopo can make posing much much easier, but is a bit of a task in its own right NNN
@lothaekor sorry, pocket posted! I was going to continue with: I’d the tool is ok and the resolution is good enough, it might not be worth it.

@Kestenan On the one hand, I could stand to learn more about blender; it's been something I've wanted to do for a while.

But on the other hand, I really only need the head and will likely be boolean cutting the rest of the model afterwards. Though I also have to model in a channel through the head and neck after that...

Because retopo is generally for games, I wanted to see if anyone's actually used it for 3d printing, or if it's completely unnecessary.

@lothaekor I quite like good topology for modelling, but I come from a CAD background and I instinctively want to know where every line and vertex is, but that’s not a healthiest to do 3D sculpting :)
@Kestenan Oh, I'm going to have that problem too in the near future. I'm used to CAD and numbers. But I need to scale the model to the right size for printing and I've never used blender for generating anything with dimensions.
