"If Trump gets elected we can still--"

No we can't

"But there would still be time in the beginning to--"

No there wouldn't

"Our allies would--"

No they won't

LISTEN UP. Either we unite now and vote against the man and the party that wants to kill the rest of us, or its over

They're spending MILLIONS to bombard us with shit to divide us and make us feel like voting doesnt matter. Ya know why? Because they know its the greatest threat to them

YOUR VOTE, YOUR POWER, OUR POWER, SCARES THEM

@Chromino
VOTE! Help others to register, take them to the polling place or help them get an absentee ballot. Offer intelligent, sensible & personalized reasons why another TFG presidency would not only ruin the country, but our actual lives for the foreseeable future. Make phone calls, write postcards, go door-to-door, fight for the health of your country, & the future for our kids, grandkids, and so on...
@Chromino
We are the majority and they are truly the bottom of societal garbage...
And they know we are the majority.
And they know we are going to win and a whole fucking bunch of them are going to prison for corruption.
@Chromino
If Trump is elected, there will not be another election in your lifetime, pretty much.
Also, say goodbye to the Constitution.
No, seriously.
@Chromino it'd be nice to have a single compelling argument that's not to avoid someone else to be elected. You might have more chances to convince people.
@sbz @Chromino Oh there's multitudes of reasons why the other person shouldn't be elected. Because of the consequences if they are. Is there something about this you do not understand?
@ariaflame @Chromino youse don't understand your own language, apparently.
@sbz @Chromino And you don't understand politics. So I guess we're even.
@sbz How about this admins amazing record at just getting shit done. Or the fact that in a race with two viable candidates, once the primary is over you shouldn’t need a “compelling argument” to vote for the guy who is obviously on your side instead of the fucking fascist who wants your neighbor deported or put in a camp. #USPol #VOTE #BIDEN FUCK #tRump @Chromino

@Pineywoozle @sbz @Chromino Biden is not on "my side." But he's less of a threat than Trump, so he gets the vote.

That's the issue people have with the Democrats. It's a genuine problem that Dems should be addressing if they're tired of this exact same conversation every fucking election (like we are).

@itsmeholland The issue is not with Dems, it’s with what ever faction you adhere to that hasn’t worked hard enough to bring a viable candidate to the Primaries. It’s not the Dems responsibility to get YOU a candidate you like. Just one that the majority will vote for. Demand that the people you believe in do the hard work & do the work yourself, to get a candidate that can appeal to you & the entire country. Focus on who’s at fault instead of who you’re being pushed to blame. @sbz @Chromino

@Pineywoozle @sbz @Chromino People are all “existential risk” this and “Supreme Court for a generation” that, and — yeah — I’m sure reproductive rights and protecting LGBT people is motivating to some, but frankly unless Biden singlehandedly fulfills every part of my public policy wishlist… I’m just not feelin’ it.

I just want a candidate who caters to my every whim, regardless of the balance of power or political reality. Is that really so much?

@Pineywoozle @sbz @Chromino More seriously, though: These people aren’t actually looking for good public policy.

They’re just luxuriating in their chance to feel like king-makers & watching regular people become increasingly apoplectic about the prospect of them spoiling the election in Trump’s favor basically boils down to a weird kink for them.

Best to focus on turning out reliable people who aren’t expecting back rubs for doing the obvious right thing.

@jeff I don’t get apoplectic anymore thank goodness. I just lay out the hard truth and move on. @sbz @Chromino
@jeff Ahhh LoL, thanks I needed that. All of us should be motivated by the good of the whole full fucking stop. @sbz @Chromino
@sbz @Chromino it would be nice, but sadly it's not what we have at the moment. Joe Biden is a crappy candidate, he always was. But he's not the same kind of crappy as Trump, who was and will be a lot worse, especially this time around. The Republicans are going more & more goose-step with each day & it's the Democrats fault for being a weak, meaningless party, but we don't have an alternative yet. So... The choice this election is: new levels of open fascism, or whoever is running against it.
@sbz @Chromino if that sounds like a hostage situation, it is. But the fact of not wanting a hostage situation doesn't get you out of a hostage situation. Someone else has to happen. But first you have to stay alive.
@Chromino True on the millions. Musk today commited to spending $45 million a month to promote Trump.
@Chromino wouldn't be the first time the naive thought they could control the extremist in office. A certain dictator got into power partly on the back of support from the 'old guard' who thought they would be able to control him. Soon learned their lesson though, and the world paid a stiff price.

@Chromino
💯

Unify behind the candidate we've got!

Keep pushing out factual narratives!

Talk to your people!

Support some other state or race (money or time)!

That's how we win a #BlueTrifecta2024 and a chance to fix things.

@Chromino I'm not asking you to play dumb or to ignore the issues that are important to you, but don't let their fear-mongering game distract, divide or conquer us. You may find yourself in the voting 'boat' with people you never thought you'd team up with, or voting for someone you can't fully or even mostly support, but we just can't afford to lose to Team Bully.

We just can't.

@Chromino I missed the memo, who is going to get killed?
I mean voting doesn't matter as much as community organizing, but that's like saying a fire isn't as hot as an acetalyne torch, and nobody's community organizing, so the vote is all we have left. It'd be dumb to refuse to vote, just because there are better things that can be done, that can't be done.
@Chromino Sometimes I wonder if Mastodon offers the wrong places for such messages, because I believe it doesn't reach the bubbles who need to hear this.
