What's the more forward-compatible platform for presenting news about our OSS project, LinkedIn or Facebook?
Given the amount of responses of this "toot", 0, it's definitely not Mastodon! 😂

@apotonick there are no tags… As a result, this toot was seen only by the people on Ruby.social instance and your followers.

Try using some tags. That might make a difference 😊

@ogirginc @apotonick I admit that I saw it and wondered why either of those platforms would be used 🤷‍♂️
@saturnflyer @ogirginc Jim, what are/would you be using to promote OSS? It used to be Twitter and maybe a blog, but times have changed, or at least that's what I suppose...
@apotonick @ogirginc yeah. Twitter is kind of dead but I’d probably still post there just in case. But I would blog and post on mastodon, Reddit, lobste.rs, maybe hacker news, and ping owners of newsletters
@ogirginc Would you mind sharing what tags might be "appropriate" for this concern? 😂 I feel like an old man reminiscing the times before TV haha
@apotonick I would probably at least use # for news, OSS, LinkedIn and Facebook 🙃
@apotonick I'd say, yes, Mastodon is not a good marketing platform. Rather human interaction platform. Whether this is a bug or feature, I guess it depends 🙃
@katafrakt With Twitter switching to "most active" sorting, I was out. Before those times I could easily reach 3k followers with a tweet. Mastodon, well yeah, I'm only here to stay in touch with you haha
@apotonick I don't know the answer to this, but now I am curious about the project.
EDIT: … And now I have looked at your profile and found out about trailblazer-test 1.0 ! 🎉

@ahx Oh wow, that means one person here reads Mastodon!!! 😍 We post everything about TRB here: https://dev.to/trailblazer

Let me know what you think! 2025 will be the year of great releases!
