I'm seeing a bunch of liberals be like "we just need to get Republican voters to realize that Project 2025 is literal nazi style fascism" but I think the problem is far more severe:

A lot of Republican voters already realize that, and they think it's a good thing.

The Republican Party has effectively been a fascist party since at least 9/11, if not Reagan.

They elected a guy in 2016 who said he would stage a coup if he wasn't re-elected, and then he did exactly that.

Also, if Biden wins it's not like these Project 2025 folks are going to quietly go away or start following rules so... buckle up either way.
@sidereal A very salient point I think gets missed is that it doesn't matter who wins, the threat remains and if anything you should be prepared for whatever happens between the election and inauguration as regardless of outcome you're going to be dealing with some emboldened people looking to kickstart a civil war. If they win, everyone is in real trouble but if they lose, everyone is in potential trouble but trouble nonetheless.
Once again, my main issue with the Democrats is that they consistently compromise with the Republicans (who are all, without exaggeration, neo-nazis).
Also anyone who is flipping out about Project 2025, but ever talked smack about antifascists/black bloc should be teased mercilessly
I will probably never understand what took folks so long to realize there was a growing legalistic fascist movement in the USA, but I'm glad you're here with us now.

@sidereal

Yes, hello, good morning, by the way the call is coming from inside the house.

@sidereal

I think it's just straight denial mostly

@sidereal No, they should be allowed to realize they were wrong and join us without being made to feel they're still unwanted because of their past mistakes and like the fash are the only people who will be their friends.

Mistreating people who want to be on our side but who made mistakes in the past is why we're so bad at getting normies on board.

@sidereal yes but that's not the framing that brought them to joining a neo-nazi party.

Most folks are easily confused about politics (reasonable, considering how polluted the waters are). Many will just slide with someone that promises simple solutions and makes them feel part of the winning side.

@sidereal Definitely before Reagan. Goldwater at the latest, so 1964.
@sidereal
He also refused to deny he would do it again, on live TV.
