@ivory w00t, congrats! (Posted with Ivory 2)
@ivory Fantastic work on the new release! 👏
@ivory Since it’s a new major release, I have to ask: Does it handle non-numeric status IDs?
@daniel No. We aren't going to tackle that until we are done with all the major features/improvements that affect all users. That will be a huge undertaking.
@ivory @daniel what’s the context on why/when non-numeric ids will be impactful?

@grork @ivory Short version: It doesn’t affect Mastodon itself, but other server implementations (one ex. being all the Misskey forks) provide a Mastodon-compatible API that uses alphanumeric status IDs, which is the main reason why Ivory doesn’t work with non-Mastodon servers.

The Mastodon spec states that status IDs are not guaranteed to be numeric, they just are in practice: https://docs.joinmastodon.org/entities/Status/#id

@daniel @ivory oh! Interesting. Thank you!
@ivory @daniel Would love to see this as well! Hoping for support for @gotosocial in the future.

@ivory

thank you so much for making it easier to boost from another account on MacOS! 🚀

@ivory appreciate you guys!
@ivory Thanks! I love your attention to details.
@ivory pretty darn good! As always: Premium Quality
@ivory the fact that only, and exclusively, works with Mastodon servers limits the usage spectrum. Many other servers implement, and adhere to, Mastodon’s APIs.
@ivory Awesome job as always! Continues to be the favourite Mastodon client for @jsbilsbrough and me. I though sometimes say “have you seen my Ivory post?” Or “Just posted our Ivory”.
@ivory thank you!
And yay!!!
@ivory one thing I notice is the new share sheet doesn’t seem to autocomplete mentions anymore. Is that coming back? I often tag friends when using the share sheet. I also noticed a weird thing going on with spelling suggestions popping up above and outside the text entry field.
@jay It could come back in the future. We wanted to get a solid base out and hear feedback from users. Thanks for that bug. Will look into it.
@ivory I can send email through the support account if it helps with more details.

@ivory love the mobile app but was very close to deleting this when I saw no option or mention of multi-column support.

Figured I *must* have gotten that wrong so went back and searched and found there is a disabled option in the 'View' menu to add a column (I'd already searched through Settings for it), so I guess that just requires a subscription?

TBH I'm still apprehensive about subscribing without trying that first. Seems strange that you'd hide that away.

Just fyi, I suppose :-).

@michaelflanagan There's only support for columns on the iPad and it's a single column. iPadOS has the ability to run multiple instances of an app side by side which works. There's no multi-column support on iOS as phones are way too small for that and we don't support landscape mode in Ivory.

@ivory oh, I see. Maybe I'm confusing iPad/iOS/MacOS apps then. It was the MacOS app I was referring to (I already use and like the iOS app very much, no need for multi-column there).

Is there not multi-column on the MacOS app? The option to add a column seems to be there (greyed-out) in the View menu but I don't see mention of it anywhere else. I'm only guessing that it's a subscriber only feature.

@michaelflanagan Ah yes. On Mac you can set up to 6 columns per window and yes it's disabled when not subscribed. If you haven't already, we highly recommend going through the trial period. If that's available to you, subscribe, and then immediately go into your subscription settings and unsubscribe. That way you won't forget later. You'll get to use the app completely during the trial period and it will just expire after 7 days.
@ivory trial period!! 😍! That's the job. Just what I was looking for, thanks!
Weird question but do you mind me asking what is Ivory? What does it do? Is it available on play store?
@abhishek13 in the beginning was Tweetbot, a very friendly Twitter client, only on iOS. Then, Lord Musk decided to close API, and Tweetbot, as all other clients, died. The team behind started a Tweetlbot-like client for Mastodon. And they called it… Ivory. So, Ivory is a cool client for Maston, with a cool interface, and only available on Apple App Store.
@ivory congrats on the update

@ivory Do filters (muting) work with hashtag lists? They don't seem to for me on a quick check. I have a user muted and they appear in a hashtag list, same for a muted hashtag (I see exclude hashtags in the hashtag list dialog).

My test case is following the #NYGiants and #Giants but not the #SFGiants in the #MLB.

@hmelman They may not. Will make note to look into this. Also don't have an answer yet if it's something overlooked on the server side of things or if we need to somehow implement it on our end. Thanks!
@ivory is streaming in new posts now available?
@Warlock Nope. That's a huge project and we aren't there yet.

@ivory well, the share sheet is now better for adding ALT that the post UI in the app 😍

Can we hope a box like that, to add ALT text to attachment as fast as in the share sheet?

@Timekeeper We will address that when we redesign the compose view completely.
@ivory Are these changes on iOS only as I’m not seeing them on the Mac?
@tekguru They are on both. Make sure you are updated to 2.0.
@ivory Definitely both on 2, but I can't see any option on the Mac for altering the icons below the posts.
@tekguru Not sure what you mean by that?
@ivory On iOS you can change the icons below the post window, Home Faves, etc. I was hoping you could do the same on the Mac.
That is reorder / changeout the sidebar icons.
@tekguru Oh no. We didn't make any changes to how that stuff works yet. But our primary navigation bar is going to get a completely overhaul in one of the next few updates and you'll be able to configure them all on Mac and iOS.
@ivory Ah ha fairy nuff, I'll keep on trying to get on the beta :)
@ivory great update thank you!
@ivory Congratulations on the milestone guys!! I personally use Ice Cubes but that doesn’t mean I don’t love seeing the development of other apps, and yours is one of my favorites. Keep up the good work and I’m excited to see what the future holds
@ivory
neither this post, nor the app store
page, say what Ivory does.
if you google it, you get info on
grand pianos.
@thvv @ivory's profile touches upon what it is: "A Mastodon Client for iOS & Mac."

@ivory Does the share sheet work on Ventura 13.6.7? It doesn't seem to from Safari. I see Open in Ivory and a dialog flashes and immediately disappears and that's it.
@hmelman that would be a question for @todd. He has officially been tagged.
@ivory @hmelman It should work on Ventura but will do some testing and see what's going on.
@ivory is there a help page available for how the hashtag list works? I can’t figure out how to add a hashtag to a list (am using the TestFlight 2.0).
@ivory got it. It’s a special, additional kind of list available in the tags tab. Probably due to mastodon, but that is confusing and should just be listed together with other lists, so we have one clear place for lists.
