I can’t overstate how relieved I am with the election results in France.
It’s still very worrying, the far right is growing in terms of influence, but at least it’s still widely considered as the most dangerous option by everyone else, and it’s still being effectively blocked.

We won’t get an efficient government with how the parliament is split, but at least it won’t be run by the far right. Congrats to all the people who voted to avoid running the country into a totalitarian wall!

@thelinuxEXP It's crazy that the so-called Macron gambit worked. I am very surprised. But we should expect that the right-wing radicals who have the support of the Russian Federation will come back with renewed vigour in the next elections. If they won now, people could blame them for everything and say how incompetent they are

@Distante @thelinuxEXP (2/2) Because the left (NFP) is going to be judged for every action or mistake they’ll do even if they don’t have the absolute majority. Far-right media are going to be pitiless, merciless and produce even more fake news.

People will still think that the far-right is a potential viable choice.

The next presidential election will be very hard for all the parties except the far-right.
Macron’s gambit helped the far-right more than the others

@stubbornphoenix @Distante Yeah, that’s definitely what I’m afraid of as well
