I can’t overstate how relieved I am with the election results in France.
It’s still very worrying, the far right is growing in terms of influence, but at least it’s still widely considered as the most dangerous option by everyone else, and it’s still being effectively blocked.

We won’t get an efficient government with how the parliament is split, but at least it won’t be run by the far right. Congrats to all the people who voted to avoid running the country into a totalitarian wall!

@thelinuxEXP
First the good results in UK, now in France.. That does really give me some hope for the elections in Germany next year 💚
@oliver If Germany escapes the far right, there’s still hope for the EU, and for democracy in Europe! I hope for the best too!

@thelinuxEXP @oliver Far-right, populist 'A'fD achieved 15.9%, far-left, populist BSW 6.2% in the #EU elections. So 'only' about 1/4 voted populists (including smaller parties). I'm carefully optimistic.

Hope that left and center can at least agree on _some_ stuff in #France tho. We need more solution oriented politics in the EU. Way too much 'us' vs. 'them' thinking rn.
