Discovered, much to my disgust, that #CAMHS do not deal with #ADHD referrals. Though I know they do test #ASD referrals for ADHD. But instead for kids with ADHD they must go through the HSE psychology services (which we've had a super bad experience with) to then be put on a waiting list which is 6 to 8 YEARS long. So the only real option for kids is the same as for adults, suffer through it or pay a private doctor.

@deantoir_ceardaiochta We were informed that although one of our kids has a diagnosis of #Dyspraxia and were told needed a separate #ASD diagnosis, they will be put on the waiting list "once the required staff are hired"...

@eobeara FFS they really don't care about our kids do they? Our plan b is to do the waiting list asap while our plan a will be to try and save up or get a loan to pay for private assessment. I'm only getting diagnosed now (midway through) and I don't want her to have the same struggles I've had.

@eobeara also my cousin ended up having to go private for her kid who has dyspraxia and verbal dyspraxia, I'm not sure about their ASD status. They were non verbal and it was delaying their entry into school. The lack of help they experienced is sickening. The whole hiring freeze needs to end, the amount of money they waste on ego projects yet they won't spend where it's needed.
