"The majority of ALL book bans in the US were initiated by just 11 people…Book banning is NOT a movement…In most [states] it only takes a single complaint to have a strip a book from the library. Just one…Look at what is happening in St. James, FL where ONE person got twenty three books removed. Or in Clay County District schools where ONE person forced almost thirty books off shelves."

I just signed this petition and hope you will too.

Hundreds of books are usually banned by just ONE person in a community

In states enacting book bans, in most cases it only takes a single complaint to have a strip a book from the library. Just one. That’s it.

@petersuber Of course!!
Signed and thank you for making it available to us!
@petersuber broken system for sure. so sad!
@petersuber Tyranny of the minority in action.
@petersuber This is why we can't have nice books.
@petersuber Perhaps we can put together a petition to ban these 11 people from libraries. I'd sign it.

@petersuber

I agree, and would have signed fellow citizen petersuber, but would have had to agree to be registered and spammed.

I wish there had been an option to just agree.

@SearingTruth @petersuber There's that (so! many! online petitioning outfits disregard consent and do not get your opt-in before subscribing you!), and also I couldn't find where to actually READ the petition! Maybe I'm just glazing over the link when I scan the page, but - everything seems to be ABOUT the petition, but not the petition itself? Maybe if I'd gone down the SIGN path I would have gotten to the text of the petition eventually?
@petersuber the media shit show is owned by 6 people.
