#WordWeavers 5.1 β€” Introduce your cast as if they were a famous music band coming to your town.

~ New thread time! ~

Welcome, welcome! Now introducing Herr Ludwig van Beethoven and his bright new musical protΓ©gΓ©e, Anja Haas. It's sure to be quite a treat! Their duets are incredible!

(This is a co-written & ongoing story with a friend.)

#WordWeavers 5.2 β€” If your MC listened to your favorite music, what would their reaction be?

I listen to quite a bit of opera and classical music. He would enjoy that huge part of my musical taste. (Let's not think about everything else I listen to, though.)

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.3 β€” Who is your most creative character?

I have so many stories, so many characters to choose from, and it's so terrible difficult to pick just one character for this question. If I HAD to choose, though, my answer might just be Elric. I mean this in two ways: in terms of my creativity in building the character but also the creativity of the character themselves. Elric is a non-binary mystic (AKA wizard) and is so imaginative, clever, and brilliant.

#TheScarletMirror #LGBTQIA+

#WordWeavers 5.4 β€” Antagonist POV: is it easy for you to apologize? Can you apologize to someone right now?

Anja's Arsehole Husband: What would be the point of apologizing? Why should I bother? I'm usually in the right, anyway. And if I wasn't? I couldn't care less.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.5 β€” Do you have fans / people who enjoy your writing? What’s your relationship to them?

This makes me feel so soppy and all warm inside. I have a huge audience over on Archive of Our Own, which still blows my mind. People enjoy my stories, which makes me ridiculously happy. I have a writing / reading group on here, too. They're my close buddies, besties for years now, and we share all of our work in posts and tag one another. We'll comment on here and / or AO3 after reading.

#WordWeavers 5.6 β€” MC POV: When was the last time you laughed?

Ludwig: People see me as someone who's so severe and serious. With friends, I /do/ laugh. Amusing me isn't the toughest job in the world, which isn't always the best for my students. The last time that I laughed, though? It was with Anja during our previous lesson. She never fails to make the mood lighter.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.7 β€” What can make your MC cry?

Either his hearing loss or the frustration and pain from his tinnitus. Aside from that, perhaps any emotional development to be made would be enough to bring him to tears. (I wish I was kidding about that last one there. Emotions weren't a strong suit of his.)

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.8 β€” Where would your SC go if they had a bad day?

The local pub. It's where all of the "group" will meet on a regular basis, either for a meal, to talk, or to simply have some pints. Every single one of Ludwig's close friends or acquaintances thankfully live nearby.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.9 β€” Who has the best meals in your story?

The local pub, of course. Stews, homemade bread, fresh fruit, and things of that sort. The best food in Vienna, according to Ludwig.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.10 β€” MC POV: if you could wipe something from your memory, would you do it?

Ludwig: As much as I would love to say yes, my memories have shaped me into the man that I am today. I hesitate to offer a single memory to rid myself of. I don't think I would ever be able to do it. Painful or not, they're /my/ memories.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.11 β€” Which of your hobbies / interests would appeal to your antagonist?

I have none that would appeal to Anja's bastard of a husband. He's more the hunting, shooting, and cheating on his wife sort.

We honestly have nothing in common.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.12 β€” Which of your hobbies / interests would your MC find the most boring?

Ha. Excellent question.

I imagine Ludwig would either loathe with a fiery, burning passion or be absolutely enthralled by the concept of gaming and the stories to be found there. There's no in-between here. That's very interesting to think about.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.13 β€” If you weren’t a writer, what other creative avenues would you pursue?

Ooooh, fabulous question.

Gaming, probably. I'm already doing that. I might be a serious gamer that streams or posts stuff on Instagram. I already do the latter, but not with a ton of videos. I only post pictures of cozy games, my Animal Crossing island, and my setup and stuff.

#WordWeavers 5.14 β€” Are your characters using the same name inside and outside of their family?

They go by the same names.

Here are some historically accurate nicknames that Ludwig van Beethoven went by, though. I'll list them down below. These are all from his conversation journals, which you can find in this novel: Conversations with Beethoven by Sanford Friedman. They're his diaries (after deafness).

β€’ Prospero
β€’ Great Maestro
β€’ Ludwig
β€’ Venerated Composer
β€’ Revered Maestro
β€’ Worthy Friend

#WordWeavers 5.15 β€” Do any of your characters deal with insomnia? How do they handle it?

Ludwig occasionally has issues with sleeping. Generally, however, he would turn in around eight or nine and go to sleep at a normally hour, waking early to have breakfast (either at home or in a local pub), and then he would begin his work.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.16 β€” Do you ever get meta in your stories? (Like the MC thinks they're in a book.)

I have, actually. In various other stories, but not the one I'm referencing in this tag. I do love breaking that fourth wall because it's a fun thing to incorporate into a story. It's engaging for the reader as well.

#WordWeavers 5.17 β€” Do you use moodboards or character models when writing? Feel free to share.

Oh, gosh. I literally just spent a few minutes trying to find some examples to share. But anyways, I DO use moodboards. I love using them for any sort of writing I'm doing, whether it's for RP stories, novels, fanfiction, or #TTRPG stuff I GM (i.e. #Cyberpunk2020, #CyberpunkRED, or #DnD / #DungeonsAndDragons). They're so much fun, and they help get me into the mood for a story. It helps my mindset.

#WordWeavers 5.18 β€” If your book came with a small toy, what would it be?

A small piano for Ludwig, I think. It would be a toy piano, maybe even one that's in a tiny music box. It would play a melody from one of his compositions as well. That would be so cute.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.19 β€” Do your MCs or antagonists have characteristics you’re uncomfortable writing?

I enjoy (in a weird way, I'll say) getting out of my comfort zone to write about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. I will write the weirdest things and do so with gusto. There's no point in only writing stories, characteristics, or traits that are in your comfort zone. Write everything. Write it all. That's how you grow and become better as an author. Do it all.

#WordWeavers 5.20 β€” Under what circumstances would your MC side with the antagonist?

To help further the musical career of Anja. The Asshole Husbandβ„’ (as I call him) only cares about Anja making him look better, but Ludwig genuinely loves and cares about her. He wants her to be happy, and music brings her joy and comfort.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.21 β€” What’s the most useless or humorous writing feedback you ever received?

Boy, this sent me back! I've gotten some pretty silly advice in the past. Someone once told me that I switch POVs too often. That's stuck with me for far too long. Here's the thing, though, and I'm attaching a photo because it's too much for this post. It explains everything.

People can be accidentally ignorant. There are so many POVs that are available to write. Some people assume there are only two.

#WordWeavers 5.22 β€” Could your MC manage keeping plants alive?

Ludwig? LUDWIG? Ha. Haha. Nope. They would be dead after a few days. Period, end of.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.23 β€” What writing craft skill are you focusing on improving at this time?

My BIGGEST one is going back through old stories (and doing this in new ones as well) and STOPPING MYSELF from using the word "had" in reference to past events. I'll change the sentence structure completely. It' was a habit and those are hard to break. I barely use the word these days but editing older work of mine and getting rid of that one silly word feels so nice and freeing. πŸ˜‚

#WordWeavers 5.24 β€” What would it take for you to give up writing your current book?

Nothing β€” because it won't happen.

#WordWeavers 5.25 β€” When in danger from another, does your MC fight, flee, or fawn to escape?

My MC (Ludwig) has never been afraid of a scuffle. He would fight. His temper is atrocious.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.26 β€” Does your MC truly fix stuff, or are they a duct tape type of fixer?

He has never been good at fixing anything. That goes for both broken furniture and broken relationships as well. He's a mess.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.27 β€” Do you have any sort of marginalized group representation in your current book?

Women. Women and their rights. This story takes place during the late, late, late 1700s. A desire for liberation is a way to describe this story.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.28 β€” Do you include inside jokes for friends or fan groups in your stories?

Always. I'll never fail to do this. I especially love doing it for my bestie, @strangeseawolf. It's my favorite thing to do. πŸ’œ

#WordWeavers 5.29 β€” What does your SC find most annoying about your MC?

His inability to act calm and collected at all times. His temper, which was easy to flare up. His clumsiness. His mood swings. All of these things.

Not-so-fun fact: Ludwig van Beethoven's issues were all caused be something terrible. He suffered from led poisoning. It didn't kill him, but it changed his entire personality and constantly afflicted him. He was so ill. Everything was caused by it.

#RageOverALostLove

#WordWeavers 5.30 β€” Is your current book turning out the way you expected it to?

It is. It's a co-written story with one of my closest friends in the world and we love writing this tale.
