#WordWeavers 1.29 โ€” Have you ever written a pet into one of your stories?

I have. Many times. One story that comes to mind for me is with Murk, Elric's familiar. She's a black kitty that faithfully remains by his side. I'm talking about #TheScarletMirror right now.

#WordWeavers 7.10 โ€” You have to leave Earth, and you can only immigrate to one of the settings youโ€™ve written. Where do you go?

Send me straight to Yรผl. It's one of my favorite settings I've ever created. It's a fantasy world, one with magic and without judgement for LGBT+ folks. It was created over a decade ago for my (original) homebrew #TTRPG campaign. I'm a longtime game or dungeon master. It later became the setting for a series of mine.

#WritersCoffeeClub 12.2 โ€” From all your work, who's your favourite character?

That's like asking me who my favorite child is! What an impossible question!

I think, if you put a laser weapon to my head and made me answer this on the spot, it would actually be quite simple. I would say that it's Elric from #TheScarletMirror, and I bet @strangeseawolf and @DoctorMonkey2 are likely to agree. Elric is a mystic (AKA a wizard). In that universe, mystics are all non-binary ancient beings. The thing I love about Elric so much is the air of mystique, the way they care but try so hard to place a layer of separation between themselves and humanityโ€”yet it's always blasted to hell. Every. Single. Time. They care, they feel love, pain, loss, heartache, and everything in-between. It's the very definition of humanity, despite the obvious fact that they're not even human. They encompass it all. Plus, they have a black cat as their familiar whose name is Murk. I /adore/ Murk. Seawolf does as well. How can you not?

Interestingly enough, Elric was a character I originally created for #DungeonsAndDragons / #DnD years ago, and things only grew from there. (Fun fact, I'm actually a Dungeon or Game Master for so many TTRPGs.)

#WordWeavers 5.3 โ€” Who is your most creative character?

I have so many stories, so many characters to choose from, and it's so terrible difficult to pick just one character for this question. If I HAD to choose, though, my answer might just be Elric. I mean this in two ways: in terms of my creativity in building the character but also the creativity of the character themselves. Elric is a non-binary mystic (AKA wizard) and is so imaginative, clever, and brilliant.

#WordWeavers 5.23 โ€” Are your MCs picky about where they sleep?

In general, it depends on the story.

Let's take #TheCityOfOpulence, for example. While Alexios prefers his own bed, he can also sleep in the warehouse or in his car.

In #TheFinalRite, Father Kenneth is used to sleeping in various different rectory buildings or hotel rooms. He's always on the road and traveling.

In #TheScarletMirror, Elric prefers their own bedroom, up high in the tower. They're a mystic (AKA a wizard).

#WritersCoffeeClub 3.3 โ€” How much of your worlds are invented versus real? Give examples.

Great question!

#TheCityOfOpulence has a fictional world, all #SFF and #cyberpunk.

#TheScarletMirror has a fantasy world, from a homebrew and original #DnD / #DungeonsAndDragons world of mine, same as above.

The worlds in #TheFinalRite (a horror, paranormal, and exorcist-based story), #ThePastIsAWound (a 1950's news program), and #Unwanted (an office-based love and drama) are all real and accurate.

#WritersCoffeeClub 2.6 โ€” If you were to write a sequel centered on one of your SC's, which would you pick?

That's a fantastic question.

Either Murk from #TheScarletMirror, mostly for @strangeseawolf, or Junk from #TheCityOfOpulence. Those are my two favorite SC's that I have. Now that I think about it, though, they're all my favorites. I love everyone I write.

#KnowYourAuthors 1 โ€” Do you listen to music while you write? If yes, do you have a specific writing playlist? Did you make it yourself or was it curated for you?

I NEED music while I'm writing. Here are some examples...

#TheScarletMirror: #fantasy mixes

#TheCityOfOpulence: #cyberpunk beats and metal mixes

#ThePastIsAWound: 1950s-60s mixes

I make all of my own playlists / mixes with music I enjoy. I have eclectic taste. I make mixes on both 8tracks and Spotify. It's a hobby of mine.

#WritersCoffeeClub 1.11 โ€” Do you use dream sequences in your work? How do you feel about them?

I LOVE using dreams in my stories.

In one of my #fantasy WIP's, #TheScarletMirror, two strangers are struggling to understand why they're dreaming about each other. They're understandably bewildered. They have to solve the mystery.

I also wrote this: https://archiveofourown.org/works/41677479

It's a #DoctorWho standalone story called Nothing More Than a Dream.

Totally tagging @strangeseawolf here. ๐Ÿ’œ

#WordWeavers 12.31 โ€” What kinds of societies and economic systems appear in your stories? (1/2)

Woah, buddy. Lots. Let's use just TWO examples. There are far more I could include.

1. #TheScarletMirror, a #fantasy novel. For economics, there are so many diverse occupations and industries, either magical or nonmagical. There are several currencies, exchange rates, and so much more. Societies differ as well. If you can imagine it, it can be found here.
