Any country that makes protecting your health or being poor a crime is not a real democracy.
Another tell that a country isn’t a real democracy:
When media, elected officials, government agencies, companies, even the public itself refer to the public most often as “consumers” and rarely ever as “citizens,” there’s something pretty messed up about that country.
Thank you for calling it as it is--the difference between mob rule and democracy is a moral one. A mob will not respect the rights of the individual when those rights run counter to the zeitgeist of the mob, a democracy will respect the rights of the individual even when they run counter to the interests of the largest voting bloc.
It's not a real country.
