Part of realizing that I'm probably autistic is also realizing that my need for a structured work environment and strategy-based leadership isn't just a minor personal preference.

It's a need that severely impacts how well I'm able to do my job. If we're going to "throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks," I'm probably going to shut down.
